On the final day of the #ClimateICJAO hearings, PISFCC Director, Vishal Prasad presented the People’s Petition to the world’s top court. The Petition, an outcomes document that emerged from the People’s Assembly, a 3-day event held during the first week of the oral hearings, was assembled based on the lived, firsthand experiences of 18 witnesses from communities from every continent. Despite having little to no responsibility in causing climate change, they find themselves on the frontlines of its devastating impacts. It is a call to act boldly, decisively, and urgently – for today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. On behalf of the witnesses, we urge the ICJ to listen to their voices and deliver on the people’s existential need for climate justice. #ClimateJusticeAtTheICJ
